Inboard diesel Jet driven rigid inflatable boats
As specialist in water jet propulsion system since more than 35 years,
Castoldi Company knows what does it takes to hulls for allowing Castoldi
jet drives to enhance its great benefits.
Now in its own boatyard, Castoldi fully manufactures the Jet Tenders,
developing and testing hull forms, checking the quality during every
productive process while using state of the art materials.
Jet Tenders consist in a range of rigid inflatable boats fitted with
diesel engine, water jet drive and the highest quality available equipement
for performing the best yacht tender duties.
Features include reduced weight and height (through the electric controlled,
retractable helm), self-bailing cockpit even standstill (14 and 15
excluded), a deck configuration walk-through from transom to bow,
hulls specially developed for water jet drive, a disconnecting clutch
(integrated into the jet unit) for a real boat holding position.
Jet Tenders can all travel, stable and dry, at more than 30 knots
in rough offshore waters, as well as in shallow waters and they can
even land on the beach and cross at speed sand and mud strips.
Without any exposed rotating parts and protrusion under the keel,
Jet Tenders are safe for people in water and on-board and they can
perform safe nightly operations.
Manoeuvrability is superb, Jet Tenders manoeuvre better and faster
than boats with traditional propulsion systems in closed spaces as
they can use the maximum power (and, therefore, the maximum thrust)
also at low speed being capable even to turn on its own axis and to
be stopped in a space of max 1,5 times its own length to avoid impacts
and collisions.
State of the art construction materials are used as Hypalon-Neoprene
coated polyester, 1670 Dtex (1100 for 14 and 15 models) for the inflatable
tubes while the hull is made in sandwich structure with hand laid
Kevlar and Vinilester resin with Airex core ( 14, 15 and 21) and in
hand laid single skin glass fibre with isoftalic polyester resin (16
and 18) stringers system are in kevlar and vinilester resin (14, 15,
17, 21) or in GRP (16, 18) always with polyurethane close cell foam
core. For all models the decks are made in hand laid glass fibre and
isoftalic polyestere resin, sandwich structure with nidaplast core
material on the walking areas, single skin elsewhere.
These features give a very strong yet light weight construction.
A work version (named PRO) with tough, simplified equipment
and a special console, is available for commercial, para-military
duties, for 16 and 18 models.
